Several Choices of Garden Style
When creating a garden there are many various styles to choose from. You could create your ideal garden from scratch, or base it on a traditional English, or French garden. A good idea would be to use an attractive garden as a basis, and then add your own additions as time goes on. In the following article we'll be looking at how you can get started with creating your ideal garden.

Gardens that are of a Japanese style are very popular these days, mostly due to their rather beautiful looks. The natural environment is the basis of these types of garden, just like it always is the basis for Japanese art. So if you are trying to build a Japanese garden you would use the things in your garden, like trees, rocks or a stream. Japanese gardens usually have a very distinctive empty space. Japanese gardens are mainly populated by shrubs and evergreen trees, such as pines, bamboo, Japanese maples and azaleas. Compared to other types of gardens, this kind usually only has a limited number of species, in keeping with the minimalist preferences of the Japanese.

A Container Vegetable garden is an efficient way to grow your own vegetables when you have a limited amount of space. This is also a good type of garden for beginners to start out with, as everything is very clear cut, with each plant in its own container. You need to make sure that you use the right sized containers. Nearly any type of container can be used, so trying to create a certain atmosphere isn't difficult. The bottom of the containers must have holes so that the moisture is drained. The region where you live will really dictate what kind of vegetables you can grow.

Roof gardens are becoming increasingly popular as land available for cultivation has grown more tight. It would be out of the question for many city dwellers who live in small apartments or brownstones to garden in a traditional manner. Rooftop gardens have been used for a long time in Europe and the rest of the world though they are just now gaining popularity in the United States. A community garden on your apartment building is a wonderful way to address the work needed to create and maintain the garden while also benefiting from the spoils. A personal rooftop garden may fit your needs if you have a flat area on the roof and limited gardening space on your land. Reasons, including practical and aesthetic, must be weighed when you decide the type of garden you choose to plant even as you cherish many varieties of gardens. For instance, if you are in an arid climate, a tropical garden would not be suitable. That's an extreme example, but the point is to keep your environment in mind when choosing what to plant. Additionally, non-native plants can be chosen if it is possible to bring them inside should the temperature drop to an unbearable level, for example.
